This doctoral-seminar course is designed to introduce
first-semester students to spirituality as an academic field, help them acquire
the skills needed for doctoral study, and to identify the focus of their
dissertation research. Drawing from the breadth of the faculty, this course surveys
several approaches and accompanying methods in spirituality studies while
helping students develop and strengthen their own research interests and research
and writing skills.
