A survey of the history of Christian spirituality from the early
apostolic period through the patristic, medieval, modern and
contemporary eras. The course offers a more in-depth examination of
certain key moments and persons and their lasting contribution to the
ongoing Christian tradition. Students will also be expected to read and
critically appraise one classical work of Christian spirituality from a
provided list.
