SS 7242 Parables of Jesus
The SS 7242 Parables of Jesus course offers portals into the life of Jesus and the world in which he lived, as well as the wisdom he offers to his disciples. Come and learn more about these wonderful ‘word pictures’ as found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Explore such questions as: Why does Jesus make such great use of parables to promote the reign of God? How might a study of the parables of Jesus enrich my faith, life, and spirituality? How do the parables of Jesus inform topics of our time related to justice, peace and the integrity of creation?
You will also be invited to explore how the great parables found in the Old Testament capture the wisdom of discerning persons and communities of faith from the past in their search for God/Wisdom – even as they continue to speak to us today.
