This course will assess some of the challenges and achievements in ecumenism and interreligious dialogue. It will include discussion on some of the major primary documents related to ecumenism and interreligious dialogue. Particularly taking its inspiration from the documents and encyclicals of the Roman Catholic Church, and in light of the Churchs teaching on ecumenism and interreligious dialogue, with particular reference to/since the Second Vatican Council (1962-65).
The course also will explore some theologians who in different ways have influenced and contributed to the Churchs path on ecumenism and in encountering world religions.
This course will be offered in two distinct sections, one in ecumenism and another in interreligious dialogue. It will be possible to take either as one or two sections.
