An introduction to the psalms with special emphasis on their use in the liturgy, especially the Liturgy of the Hours. The spirituality and use of the psalms by the Church as a means to reflect on Christ (a Christological hermeneutic will be explored). The second half of the course will explore the psalms in the Church's official liturgical books, especially the evolution of the Liturgy of the Hours
